Attic bedroom trim around dormers and a skylight

An attic bedroom with dormer windows, a skylight and knee walls was trimmed out: window casing and deep sills, baseboard and a closet door.

Attic rooms are all angles: dormer walls, sloped ceilings, knee walls and skylights. This attic bedroom in Radnor Township was trimmed out in November 2024.

Dormer windows

Each dormer window sits at the back of a small alcove. The window got casing and a deep sill that runs the full depth of the dormer, which gives a useful ledge and makes the window look intended rather than lost at the end of a tunnel.

Knee walls and baseboard

Baseboard runs along the low knee walls and meets the sloped ceiling corners cleanly. Where the knee wall turns into a dormer, the base turns with it.

Closet door

A closet door was hung and cased in the gable wall. In the photo the old floor is still exposed, before the new flooring went down.
