This brick house in the Douglassville area of Berks County was done in two visits in 2025.

A new exterior door

In January 2025 we replaced an exterior door set into the brick wall. Doors in brick openings are fitted to the masonry, and the trim and sealant have to close the gap between the frame and the brick without blocking the drainage at the sill.

Replacement windows

In September 2025 we came back for the windows: sliding and double-hung units set into the brick openings over the existing stone sills.

Sealing to brick

Brick and stone sills are porous and uneven. The new windows were sealed with a joint wide enough to stay flexible, and the weep path at the sill was left open so any water that gets behind can drain out.
